During the debut of KRU Esports in the Game Changers Championship 2023, an inclusive VALORANT tournament, on Wednesday (29), Riot Games paid homage to Santiago “Daveeys” Ruiz and player Gizem “Luie” Harmankaya, both of whom passed away this year.
The team honored Daveeys by donning shirts with the phrase “Hasta Siempre Daveeys,” translating to “Farewell, Daveeys.” In addition to the shirts, images of Luie and Daveeys were displayed on the stage screens.
An extra tribute to Luie featured a in-game card bearing the player’s name. All game participants will have free access to this cosmetic item. Furthermore, the athlete had previously been honored in Episode six, Act three, with the title “Gizem.”
