Former player, Alexandre “xand” Zizi, disclosed last Wednesday his decision to temporarily step away from VALORANT’s competitive scene, citing financial constraints.
Previously hailed as one of Brazil’s top duelists, Xand transitioned from Counter-Strike (CS) to Riot Games’ tactical shooter in 2020, even participating in the VCT Champions 2021. During a live stream, he detailed the reasons behind his choice, emphasizing the crucial role of financial viability in his current situation.
“I can’t simply play without ensuring my family’s livelihood. My priority is my family, girlfriend, and home… I can’t commit my time, start training now, reduce my live streams, and forego casino opportunities,” he clarified.
Xand entered the VALORANT scene in the game’s launch year, representing various organizations, both Brazilian and international, such as B4 Esports, FURIA Esports, Ninjas in Pijamas, KRÜ Esports, and 00Nation Brasil.
Despite the competitive hiatus, the player stressed that he won’t completely abandon the VALORANT scene. He plans to intensify his live streams, staying at a high level to eventually consider team offers when necessary opportunities arise.
