Format:
Group Stage:
Eleven teams will be divided into three groups. Two groups with four teams each and one group with three. The best team from each region, based on Champions 2023 performance, goes to the three-team group, advancing automatically to the second round. The remaining ten teams are placed based on 2023 performance and drawn to fill the ten remaining spots. Each group has a double-elimination format with Best of 3 (BO3) matches. The three winning teams from each group advance to the elimination stage. The three teams in second place move to the entry stage.
Entry Stage:
The three second-placed teams compete in a round-robin format, with only one team securing a spot in the elimination stage.
Elimination Stage:
Four clubs compete in a double-elimination bracket, with the two finalists earning a spot in Masters Madrid. The team from the entry stage is placed on the opposite side of the bracket from the other team in the original group. The Opening Tournament champion receives a preferential seed at Masters Madrid.
Journey Towards Champions After the Masters in Spain, the season continues with the first stage from April to May, setting the stage for the top three teams from each league to compete in Masters Shanghai. The second stage determines the four representatives from each region for VALORANT Champions.
Championship Points In 2024, Riot Games introduces an innovative championship points system to assess team performance and recognize consistency throughout the season. Here’s how it works:
- Winning the regional Opening Tournament, Masters Madrid and Shanghai, the first and second stages of the Eliminations grants a team 3 points.
- Each victory during the stages earns 1 point.
- Each team plays ten matches in the regular season.
- The first and second-placed teams in each Elimination stage automatically advance to the second round and earn an extra point, as these two teams play one less match.
