As competitive VALORANT season approaches, all eyes turn to KICK//OFF, officially marking the beginning of the game’s 2024 competitions. In an exclusive interview with Pichau Arena last Thursday (31), Leonardo “mwzera” Serrati, FURIA team member, shared his expectations for the tournament and discussed the details of the team’s long-term project.
FURIA kicks off the 2024 season with significant changes in its lineup, introducing two new additions, Ilan “havoc” Eloy and Felipe “liazzi” Galiazzi, along with Vitor “kon4n” Hugo, who has moved up to the main roster.
Previously, mwzera expressed the desire to “redefine FURIA’s image in VALORANT,” indicating the goal of building a renewed narrative with the revitalized team. KICK//OFF Americas emerges as the first opportunity for the newly formed lineup to showcase its potential and initiate the transformation of this narrative.
When asked about the team’s goals in the tournament, mwzera emphasized the competitive mentality and the pursuit of the title. He stated, “Every team aims to win the championship. While it may be cliché, we want to showcase a different playstyle from the start. We want to compete on an equal footing. If we lose, let it be a close match. We are preparing intensively. Our project is long-term; we genuinely aim to change FURIA’s image in the VALORANT scene. We want to evolve with each tournament, each month, each day. That’s our goal.”
KICK//OFF The first official competition of the year is scheduled to take place from February 16 to March 3. KICK//OFF Americas will award two spots for VALORANT Masters and points for VALORANT Champions. FURIA is in Group A, alongside another Brazilian representative, MIBR, as well as NRG and Cloud9.
