Havoc, from FURIA, Determined to Come Back Stronger After Exiting VCT Americas

In the thrilling conclusion of the VCT Americas KICK//OFF last Monday (19), FURIA’s team concluded their journey, facing a fierce battle against compatriots MIBR. Shortly after the match, we had the opportunity to speak with Ilan “havoc” Eloy, one of the essential players of the team, who shared his reflections on the experience.

For Havoc, this was his first international tournament, which naturally brought about some initial nervousness. His debut against NRG resulted in a loss, where he recorded a rating of 0.44. However, in the second encounter against MIBR, despite the defeat, his performance was more solid, reaching a rating of 1.06.

He shared that he felt more comfortable during the second series of games, highlighting that the pressure of the debut affected his initial performance. According to him, nervousness was a determining factor in his below-expected performance at the debut, but he felt more consistent in the second series of matches.

Before the tournament, the absence of the team’s coach, Pedro “Koy” Pulig, due to visa issues, was confirmed, leaving a void in the team’s support and motivation. Havoc acknowledged Koy’s importance to the team, emphasizing that his presence is missed, especially in challenging moments like this.

In the match against MIBR, particularly on Breeze, FURIA had a lead on the scoreboard but ended up losing due to unfavorable decisions at crucial moments. Havoc stressed that the team had control of the game and could have forced a third map, but decision-making flaws cost them the victory.

Addressing the community following the team and his journey as a player, Havoc promised to come back stronger for the next VCT Americas, emphasizing the need for overcoming challenges and continuous improvement, stating that it’s not an excuse but a commitment to himself and the team.

The VCT Americas KICK//OFF marks the beginning of the season in the Franchise League. Eleven teams will compete from February 16 to March 3 for the title of champion and a spot in the VALORANT Masters Madrid.
