KRÜ Esports Hires Showliana as Captain

KRÜ Blaze Esports, a renowned esports organization, surprised the community last Saturday (2) by announcing the signing of one of the most recognized figures in the VALORANT scene, Juliana “showliana” Maransaldi, as the new captain of the team. Showliana, a veteran with a solid trajectory since 2020, having been part of major organizations like Dignitas Female and Evil Geniuses, now joins KRÜ Esports to lead their lineup in the thrilling world of VALORANT.

The announcement was made through KRÜ Esports’ official social media channels, where an exciting video highlighted the arrival of the new captain, featuring memorable moments from showliana’s career amidst an atmosphere filled with Brazilian references. KRÜ Esports, an Argentine organization known for its presence in various games such as VALORANT, Rocket League, and FIFA since 2020, showed great enthusiasm for the signing.

Maransaldi’s arrival at KRÜ Esports marks not only a change in the team’s leadership but also a significant expansion in its regional influence. By becoming the team’s captain, she stands out as the first player to compete in three different regions in Riot Games’ popular shooter: Brazil (BR), North America (NA), and South Latin America (LAS). This versatility reflects not only her exceptional skill but also her extensive experience, which includes over a decade of competing in Counter-Strike, where she built one of the most respected female careers in the franchise.

Her last stint with Evil Geniuses, where she ended her contract in August 2023, was marked by notable achievements, including titles at the Complexity Paradox Invitational and Astral Clash 2022. Now, assuming the role of IGL (In-game leader), showliana will lead the team in the 2024 season, alongside fellow Brazilian Beatriz “Bebesita” Hornes, who transitions from former analyst to team coach.

The new captain’s first challenge came in the VALORANT Game Changers LATAM, where the team faced Titanic. Demonstrating her skill and leadership, KRÜ Esports emerged victorious with a 2-0 in the MD3 (best of three maps), securing their spot in the upper bracket semifinals, where they will face 9z Team.
