On Sunday (3rd), Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi, representing Sentinels, clinched the title at the VCT Americas Kickoff, paving the way for the main VALORANT tournament in Madrid. After the decisive match, Sacy granted an interview to the official broadcast, expressing his joy for the victory and highlighting its significance both for his personal career and his team.
“I am extremely happy; this is my first official title with Sentinels,” he declared. He explained that the victory was especially meaningful due to the challenges faced by the team throughout the year 2023: “Being Brazilian, this means a lot to me. It could have been against LOUD, NRG, but the title is important to me in itself because there were great expectations regarding me last year. I am very grateful to finally come back and win,” he added.
Although Sacy had previously played for LOUD in 2022, he emphasized that the achievement was not about a matter between former and current team, but rather about ending a title-less period and bouncing back from the previous season, in which Sentinels were absent from major international championships.
On his personal social media accounts, Gustavo celebrated the victory alongside his teammates and highlighted everyone’s dedication during the offseason.
The Masters Madrid 2024 is scheduled to begin next month, on March 14th, featuring the participation of eight teams from regional qualifiers, all vying to establish themselves as the best global team. Both LOUD and Sentinels will represent Brazil in the tournament, having qualified in the VCT Americas.
