Last Sunday (24), the world of VALORANT witnessed an exhilarating final at the Masters in Madrid. The showdown culminated in a thrilling clash between the Sentinels and Gen.G teams, with talented competitors battling for supremacy on the international stage. In the end, it was the team led by the Brazilian Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi that emerged victorious, securing the second international title of the year for Sentinels.
The saga began on the Breeze map, Gen.G’s choice, where the South Koreans showcased their initial dominance, securing the first two points. However, the Sentinels didn’t let themselves be discouraged and demonstrated remarkable resilience, balancing the game masterfully. Despite the Herculean efforts of the North American team, Gen.G managed to maintain the lead at the end of the first half, with a score of 7×5. The side switch didn’t bring relief to the Sentinels as the opponents maintained a firm defense, ending the match with a 13×8 victory.
The battle continued on Bind, the North Americans’ choice, where the first half was characterized by an impressive balance, culminating in a 6×6 tie. In the second half, Gen.G started strong, but the Sentinels, with a series of brilliant plays, took the lead. Even in the face of the fierce resistance from Kim “t3xture” Na-ra’s team, the Sentinels emerged victorious in overtime, with a close score of 14×12.
The Ascent map witnessed another intense confrontation in the first half, with both teams exchanging blows and ending in a deadlock of 6×6. However, in the second half, Gen.G showed solid defense, securing a series of consecutive points and limiting the advances of the Sentinels, who were defeated by 13×8.
With Split being Sentinels’ choice, the team started with determination, dominating the defensive side of the map and securing an 8×4 advantage in the first half. After the side switch, Gen.G tried to equalize the game, but the North Americans maintained their intensity and secured a 13×10 victory.
The final decision came on Icebox, with Sentinels starting with a slight advantage. However, the South Koreans reacted fiercely during their attacks, leveling the competition. Nonetheless, the Sentinels regained the lead and ended the first half with a 7×5 advantage. In the second half, the North American team showcased their defensive strength and effectively imposed their attack, achieving a dominant 13×6 victory.
With this epic result, Sentinels secured their place in history as the first organization to win two titles at the VALORANT Masters, having already clinched the Reykjavík edition in 2021. In addition to the prestigious title, the North American team took home a prize worth R$1.25 million, solidifying their prominent position in the competitive VALORANT scene.
