Zekken, a member of the Sentinels team, discovered a bug affecting the agent Neon following changes introduced in Patch 8.11 of VALORANT. He shared this finding on social media, and Riot developers confirmed the alteration was implemented incorrectly.
Patch 8.11 in VALORANT focused heavily on balancing Duelist Agents, including Neon, who underwent significant modifications. However, these adjustments inadvertently led to a bug granting Neon increased accuracy while airborne.
Details of Zekken’s Discovery Zekken, renowned for winning Masters Madrid and his role as a Sentinels star in VCT Americas, demonstrated the bug via a video posted on his social channels. The clip showcased Neon accurately firing shots while gliding through the air, a capability not mentioned in the patch notes.
The video depicted Neon sliding from Tower A to a spot on Haven’s map, successfully landing headshots on an enemy positioned atop the ramp. Despite being an intriguing phenomenon, this behavior was unintended by developers aiming to balance the character.
Riot Games’ Response VALORANT developers promptly responded to the video, acknowledging that this alteration to Neon’s precision was unplanned and would be corrected soon. The development team assured players that this unintended “bonus” would be removed to maintain game balance.
While some players may have found the bug amusing, Riot remains committed to upholding game integrity and ensuring all agents’ abilities function as intended. Therefore, a fix for this Neon bug will be implemented in a future update.
