On Thursday, August 23, Riot Games unveiled their latest addition to the popular tactical shooter VALORANT: Vyse, also known as “The Master of Metals.” This new Sentinel agent will be available starting August 28, coinciding with the launch of Episode 9, Act II.
Vyse brings a fresh approach to the Sentinel class by utilizing liquid metal to isolate, capture, and neutralize enemies. This unique method of combat makes her an excellent choice for protecting the Spike and controlling key areas during matches.
According to the developers, Vyse is designed to offer significant flexibility in gameplay strategies. However, she lacks some of the information-gathering tools commonly found in current meta Sentinels.
Vyse’s Abilities
- Arcane Rose: Activate this ability to place a hidden Arcane Rose on any surface. You can also fire the Arcane Rose through the surface with an alternate shot. When activated again, the Arcane Rose blinds all enemies looking at it. This ability can be retrieved and repositioned.
- Living Fence: Equip liquid metal filaments to deploy a hidden wall trap. When an enemy passes through, an indestructible wall emerges from the ground behind them and lasts for a short time before dissipating.
- Thorny Bramble: Equip a liquid metal nest and throw it. Upon landing, the nest becomes invisible. When activated, it expands into a large bramble that slows and damages any players who pass through it.
- Steel Garden (Ultimate): Launch a torrent of metal thorns that block enemy primary weapons after a short delay.
New Gear and Equipment
Alongside Vyse’s release, Riot Games will also introduce a range of themed equipment to celebrate the new Sentinel. These items will be available in tiers from 1 to 10 and include:
- Tier 1: Forbidden Spray
- Tier 2: Vyse Player Card
- Tier 3: Forged Title
- Tier 4: Manual Forge Spray
- Tier 5: 2,000 Kingdom Credits
- Tier 6: Metal Petals Keychain
- Tier 7: Vyse Codename Spray
- Tier 8: Ferromancer Title
- Tier 9: A Forgotten Story Player Card
- Tier 10: Steel Determination Skin (Classic)
