VCT Ascension Americas 2024: M80 Disbands Completely After Final Loss

The M80 team, once a top contender in the VALORANT scene, has shocked the community by announcing the complete departure of its roster. This decision came shortly after the team lost the final of the VCT Ascension Americas 2024, which also cost them a spot in the VCT Americas 2025. The organization decided on a full roster overhaul, releasing all players.

The exits were gradual. On the 23rd, NiSMO and koalanoob were the first to announce they were leaving the team. The following day, BcJ and neT followed suit, leaving only zander and the coaching staff. This ultimately led to the organization’s decision to end the project entirely.

M80’s VALORANT Journey

M80 entered the competitive VALORANT scene in late 2022, quickly establishing itself as one of North America’s top teams. In 2023, they reached the grand finals of the Ascension Americas but finished as runners-up after losing to The Guard.

In 2024, the team restructured and was seen as one of the favorites to secure a spot in the VCT Americas. After strong performances in regional competitions, M80 once again reached the Ascension final but was defeated by Brazil’s 2Game, missing out on the franchise system for the second consecutive year.
