Gekko and Skye Updates

VALORANT Patch 7.12 introduces significant adjustments to Gekko and Skye’s kits, stirring up the meta. As the game dynamics undergo a revolution, we’ll explore how recent agent modifications may impact gameplay trends moving forward.

As outlined in the 7.12 patch notes, Australia’s Initiator’s Trailblazer has undergone a substantial weakening, while Los Angeles agent Dizzy received tweaks to enhance usability. Additionally, the orb recovery process is now one second faster than before.

Skye Trailblazer (Q)

  • Camera movement is disabled during the jump.
  • Trailblazer no longer causes a concussive explosion when destroyed mid-jump.
  • Trailblazer plays a destruction voice when destroyed mid-jump.
  • Trailblazer’s explosion now affects allies and enemies, causing concussion.

Gekko Dizzy (E)

  • When Dizzy is ready to shoot and spots a target, she shoots faster, and the projectile travels a greater distance.
  • Aiming delay before shooting reduced from 0.5 seconds to 0.35 seconds.
  • Missile speed increased from 7,000 to 10,000.
  • Recovery of Dizzy (E), Spider-Man (Q), and Whack (X)
  • Recovery channel time reduced from two seconds to one second.

In summary, the update significantly weakened the most problematic initiator while strengthening its less robust counterpart. This adjustment is undoubtedly an effective approach to rectify a specific imbalance in VALORANT, bringing improvements to Skye and Gekko.
