MASTERS MADRID ANNOUNCES CHANGES

Last Sunday, Riot Games, the company behind the renowned tactical shooter game VALORANT, unveiled unprecedented details about the first event of the season, Masters Madrid. Leo Faria, VALORANT’s global director, shared the updates through a year-end message.

One of the announcements included details about the season’s inaugural event, named Kick-off, scheduled for February. This tournament marks the beginning of a series of regional competitions, laying the groundwork for the highly anticipated Masters Madrid. Each league will host an initial championship to qualify teams for the main event.

Here is the Kick-off schedule:

  • Americas: February 16
  • Pacific: February 17
  • EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa): February 20
  • China: February 22

Masters Madrid, set to take place in Spain from March 8 to 24, will feature a new format. The path to victory will be outlined by a Swiss stage, culminating in double-elimination playoffs with upper and lower brackets.

It’s worth noting that, starting next year, the circuit will have four international leagues, with the addition of VCT China alongside the established VCT Americas, VCT EMEA, and VCT Pacific, bringing new challenges to the competition.
