Vegod, the Talented 3D Designer, Shares His Method for Crafting Skins

The artistic scene in VALORANT has been stirred by the impactful presence of Vegod, a creative 3D designer who has captivated the community with his distinct skins since Riot’s FPS launch.

Vegod’s journey into crafting skins for VALORANT began during his four-year competitive experience in Fortnite. Later, he shifted focus to content production for the game, acquiring skills that led to collaborations and skin trailers for VALORANT.

“The idea of creating conceptual animations in collaboration and weapon skin trailers for VALORANT emerged as I aimed to expand my footprint in esports and gaming. I knew I could easily replicate what I did in Fortnite for VALORANT, anticipating its popularity and contribution to growth. The Riot community demonstrates remarkable support for creators, which is unparalleled compared to other gaming communities.”

Regarding the production process, Vegod emphasizes the agility compared to Riot developers, who may take months or even years to create skins. His approach involves blending various components from different weapon models, shaping them into unique new designs.

“The required time varies, but I usually spend about a week creating and refining a skin. I gauge the skin’s popularity based on views and interactions on social media. If well-received, I move on to the next stage, dedicating another week to planning, scripting, voicing, and animating a trailer for the skin. Overall, I would say each skin demands about two weeks of work.”

Vegod follows a simple and efficient process:

  1. Create the skin.
  2. Evaluate community reception.
  3. If approved, develop a trailer for the skin; otherwise, move on to the next concept.

Despite his success, Vegod has never officially collaborated with Riot, despite creating 3D designs inspired by franchise league teams. He expresses interest in seizing any collaboration opportunities that may arise.

“While never formally invited by Riot for collaboration, I participate in early access events for new agents, maps, and weapon skins. Knowing that the head producer appreciates my work is truly rewarding.”

In conclusion, Vegod shares his favorite concepts in the world of VALORANT, highlighting creations like Spider-Man Miles Morales, Oppenheimer, Venom, and Star Wars, representing the most organic expression of his creativity.
