GCVCB: Legacy, XLD, and Stellae Emerge Victorious

On the debut day of the 2024 Gamers Club VALORANT Challengers Brasil (GCVCB), the stage was set for a showcase of skills and strategies in the nation’s premier VALORANT tournament. The championship’s first day witnessed the triumphant rise of Legacy, XLD, and Stellae, who advanced prominently in the competition.

OLIMPO vs. XLD GAMING

The debut of OLIMPO, a team conceived by Tixinha – Brazilian caster and influencer – and other prominent figures in the scene, brought Gabriel “shion” Vilela into the spotlight, securing the highest rating in the best-of-three matches (BO3) series and leading the battle for his team. However, XLD Gaming emerged victorious with a score of 2-0 on the maps Breeze (11-13) and Sunset (14-16), respectively. Despite OLIMPO’s efforts for a comeback, XLD skillfully controlled their opponent’s momentum, securing a crucial victory early in the championship.

LEGACY vs. HERO BASE

The showdown between Legacy and Hero Base brought forth the debut of the newly formed team for the season, with an intense battle that saw both teams alternate in the lead. In the first match, Legacy showed superiority by securing the defense on the map, thus claiming the first point of the series.

On the map Bind, Hero Base demonstrated its strength with an impressive attack, securing the majority of plantings and achieving a 13-7 victory, leveling the series. The decisive battle took place on Lotus, where Hero Base took the lead with a 5-point advantage in the first half. However, Legacy rallied, and in an exciting showdown, closed the series 2-1, securing the victory in overtime.

STELLAE GAMING vs. CO-OP.GG

The final clash of the day brought Stellae against CO-OP, formerly known as Tropa do Avanço, with the contest being intense during the first half of the game. Stellae managed to consolidate a 1-0 advantage after dominating the opponent’s chosen map. In the second map, Breeze, Stellae shone on the attacking side, securing 8 crucial rounds. In the second half, they cemented their victory with 5 more points, concluding the series with a score of 2-0.

The teams that competed on this first day of the championship remain in the race for the title and will return to the server on February 21 and 22.
