Internationally Recognized VALORANT Player Announces Career Break

In the latest statement from BLEED, it has been revealed that Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker, a prominent figure in the competitive VALORANT scene, has opted for a career hiatus. According to the organization, this decision stems from concerns about his health.

Yay is widely known among enthusiasts of Riot Games’ tactical shooter, having contributed to renowned teams such as Optic Gaming, Cloud9, and Disguised. BLEED Esports disclosed that the player decided to take a break after the conclusion of the first season, prioritizing his well-being and health.

“After completing the first phase of competitions, yay has chosen to take a temporary break for health reasons. We fully support his decision to prioritize his health and eagerly await his return in full form. Until then, we wish him rest and a proper recovery,” the team communicated.

In 2022, yay gained worldwide recognition for his standout performance as the best player during Optic Gaming’s participation in the VALORANT Masters Reykjavík. However, since then, his performance has been inconsistent.

While yay temporarily steps away, BLEED has not yet announced who will replace him in their upcoming competitive ventures.
